Delran Township can’t wait for Halloween night! It is once again the township’s recommendation that those who want to go Trick-Or-Treating do so on Oct. 31, 2024 between the hours of 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Curfew will be in effect after 9 p.m.
Please see below for recommendations to ensure our children have a safe and enjoyable Halloween!
SAFE WALKING GUIDELINES ON HALLOWEEN:
- Join kids under age 12 for trick-or-treating. If kids are mature enough to be out without supervision, tell them to stick to familiar areas that are well lit and trick-or-treat in groups.
- Put electronic devices down, keep your heads up, and walk, don’t run, across streets!
- Teach children to never dart out into the street or cross between parked cars.
SAFE COSTUME RECOMMENDATIONS FOR HALLOWEEN
- Decorate costumes and bags with reflective tape or stickers and, if possible, choose light colors.
- Choose face paint and makeup whenever possible instead of masks, which can obstruct vision.
- Have kids carry glow sticks or flashlights to help them see and be seen.
SAFETY REMINDERS FOR MOTORISTS ON HALLOWEEN
Enter and exit driveways slowly and carefully.
Slow down and be especially alert in residential neighborhoods. Children are excited about Halloween and may move in unpredictable ways.
Take extra time to look for kids at intersections, on medians, and on curbs.
